Description
Chlorfenapyr works by disrupting the production of adenosine triphosphate, specifically, "Oxidative removal of the N-ethoxymethyl group of chlorfenapyr by mixed function oxidases forms the compound CL 303268. CL 303268 uncouples oxidative phosphorylation at the mitochondria, resulting in disruption of production of ATP, cellular death, and ultimately organism mortality."
Physicochemical properties: original appearance white to pale yellow solid, melting point 100-101℃,steam pressure: <10* Λ(-7)Support(25 ℃), soluble in acetone, in non ion water solubility (pH=7): 0.13-0.17
Mammalian toxicology:
Oral: Acute oral LD50 for male rats 441, female rats 1152 mg tech./kg.
Skin and eye: Acute percutaneous LD50 for rabbits >2000 mg/kg. Moderate eye irritant; non-irritating to skin (rabbits).
Inhalation: LC50 for rats 1.9 mg tech./l air.
